Mind Your Own Business...
"Mind your own business" is a double entendre.
Meddling in the affairs of others is generally unwise. Rarely do we know what's behind another's feelings or actions...only God knows what's in the heart. Meddling is like poking a hornets nest...you're probably going to get stung. As the Bible puts it, it's like taking a dog by the ears.
I don't want to confuse this with the parable of the Good Samaritan. You should always be helpful to those less fortunate...but "meddling" is rarely helpful.
Generally speaking, "meddling" means, among other things, interfering, intruding, snooping and prying.
Here is wisdom:
Don't stick your nose into other people's business.
I said "Mind your own business" is a double entendre because I'm a huge proponent of owning your own business. If you want to know what "freedom" is like, "Mind your own business."
When you work for someone else, you are, for all practical purposes, a slave. Albeit, a paid slave, perhaps even a highly paid slave, but a slave nonetheless.
Owning your own business gives God the opportunity to bless you over and above anything your current employer can, or will, do. It doesn't mean you can run your business any way you want...God's ways are not man's ways. Commit your ways to the Lord and he will order your steps.
It's not about money...it's about time. You only get so much Every minute that passes is gone forever. Owning your own business allows you more control over your time. I know I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: Make life your work, not work your life.
If you want a happier, healthier, wealthier life: Mind your own business.
