To Church Or Not To Church

In this passage, Solomon is warning us to stay away from strangers who flatter with their words.  He says "Her house inclineth unto death and her paths unto the dead."

A warning against adultery?

Perhaps, but adultery is a forgivable sin, not a "death" sentence.

Read the passage with "understanding" and you will see a Spiritual warning against organized religion.  Look at the congregation of almost any church, and you will see "dead" people...Spiritually dead.

People who go to "church" rarely find "life."  Like sheep headed for the slaughter, they follow smooth-talking preachers who speak of love and promise "heaven."   They tickle the ears to fill the pews and collection plate.

The people who follow them believe they're saved, going to heaven when they die and have eternal life...yet, God is near to their lips, but far from their hearts.  They are on the wide road that leads to destruction.

It's rare to find a true child of God, in church.

They know God doesn't dwell in buildings made of stone, he dwells in the hearts and minds of his children.  They take God and his Word seriously...and understand the command to "Come out from among them and be separate." (2 Corinthians 6:17)  Their priority is pleasing God, not man.

Should you go to church?  Only if you like socializing with "dead" people.  As the scripture says, "None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life." (Proverbs 2:19 )

If you're looking for God, look in your "closet."

Be honest; can you think of a better way to deceive, than from the pulpit?

Here is Wisdom: Stop listening to the words of man and start listening to the Word of God.  Remember, just because everyone believes something is true, doesn't make it truth.

You see, until you're reborn Spiritually...nothing else matters.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
By Ray Evans May 9, 2020
Believing in the "Rapture" relieves you of the responsibility to do anything except believe in Jesus...who will magically whisk you away to heaven. It's a lie, designed to keep you from preparing or being prepared for what's coming.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.

A lot of well-known and well-respected preachers talk about how long they have been preaching, as if the longer one preaches the more qualified one is to preach.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom
By Ray Evans May 7, 2020
This may seem a strange question, but it never ceases to amaze me how few people allow God to play an active role in their daily lives. Why anyone would not want the creator of the universe to help them every second, every minute and every hour of every day, is simply beyond me.
Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
By Ray Evans May 6, 2020
The question in Psalms 15, "Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?" probably has as many answers as there are preachers, but they all stem from a common belief: "Everyone who believes in Jesus goes to heaven." Sounds great, but is it true?
